Hey, I just got a calf at the auction a week ago. She's about a year old, maybe younger. She has a runny nose and she coughs. I have her in a corral with another cow. Can someone tell me what it might be wrong with her?

we gave her some penn. but that didn't work. what can i give her?
What would she be allergic to? she's had it since we pick her up

Get her penned and take her temperature. Approx 101.5'F is normal.

I've never used penn for respiratory problems; you'd need something better and stronger (ie Nuflor, Baytril, Draxxin, etc). Even if you were to use penn, you have to use a different dose than what's on the bottle since that's pretty well worthless. Having a little chitchat with your vet might be a good idea.

Could be dust or even a certain type of grass.......

Calf hit the "new home" a week ago... could be a mild case of shipping fever mixed with dust.

Temperature?
Ear position -- high and perky?
Eyes -- alert and clear?

Need more info.
