calf wet under his jaw

i have seen calves at the salebarn.. usually small ones, that look puny and their bottom lip is wet.. like they have been drooling. i have even seen them wet well up under their mouth. can anyone tell me what might cause that? thanks gene

>Wet jaw's usually mean they have a repiratory infection (pneumonia). Antibiotics can help if caught early enough. Once the calf has a "foamy" mouth it's usually too late!
