Have one plastic yellow one that came with a calf (does that sound right?)
The man I got the calf from uses them and has good luck with them. There are studies about weight loss in calves at weaning related to stress of being seperated, and they recommend this type of device, or at least keeping the calves in a pen or pasture next to the momas. Significant reduction in weight loss at weaning was accomplished as compared to complete seperation.
