Calf born yesterday; normal and walking fine. Today the calf is walking on the hock or first joint above the hoofs; the hoof is turned toward the back. This condition only occurs on both rear legs. My vet who just returned from a seminar said to try 4cc LA-200 and 2cc Vitamin A. I cannot understand the use of an antibiotic. I wonder if this is caused by vit. deficiency, is genetic, or a tendon,muscle structural abnormality. Most instances I have seen similiar to this are in the front feet and within a week the calf recovers to normal.
