I noticed one of my 2 month old Angus calves has dark brown scours w/what looks like blood in it.It looks a little thin also. What could this be?Would you worry?I had a 6year old brood cow sick with salmonella 3 weeks ago.

Coccidiosis might be the cause. You can treat this by drenching with corid.

Ummm lessee.... blood coming out of the butt of my calf......hummmm... would I worry?......naaa... thats normal for a calf like that if it has salmonella, Ecoli, or ciccidiosis...... don't worry bout it, just go out in a few days to a week and toss it in a hole when you find it dead. No worries. :cboy:

it might be cocidiosis or something else or it could have ripped a little lining. watch it close to see if it gets better or worse, if it gets worse call vet

I got my calf and momma up and she still had scours but w/no blood .1st. day up they were dark yellow 2nd. day they were gray. How do you read color of scours?
