Here in NY were are paying $8-10 for Dairy crosses. A good straight Holstein will go for about $25. Many times though by the time the farmer pays trucking and commisions he gets a bill from the auction house..

Here in Southeastern Nebraska, it depends on the time of year -- right now a Holstein bull calf, less than a week old, will bring at least $125, and a Jersey will bring about $75. Later on in the spring that Holstein might bring $175-$200, while the Jersey would bring no more than $100. But come July, they're practically giving the Jerseys away.
