Angus Cow had a still born calf. I am trying to get her to accept another calf. She is not very friendly but I was able to get her in the barn with the calf. This is her 2nd calf. Any suggestions. Thanks

If you still have the afterbirth rub it all over the new calf. Doesn't hurt to drape some of it over it's back.

This is going to sound gross but often skinning the dead calf and tying it onto the "new" calf works wonders. It can be removed after a couple of days.

> First, restrain the cow and let the calf nurse if possible. The calf will be the first to accept another cow's milk. Then put Vick's vapor rub or extract of vanilla (the kind you cook with) along the top line of the calf (withers to tail head)as well on the nose of the momma cow. Sounds stupid but it actually works. In the past if we had twins and momma only like one or if we lost a cow and had an orphan calf.
