Does anyone have any idea what this is? Could this be lice or a fungal issue? I live in Southern Oklahoma and it has been extremely wet since about October coupled with pretty wild temperature swings. Is this something that requires medical treatment. None of my other calves are showing symptoms and I really havent noticed any issues with lice thus far. Any input is appreciated.

I'm not real experienced but I've never seen that. It doesn't appear swollen or irritated. My best guess would be something to do with the mud or possibly exposure to some chemical. I'd personally not worry too much but would keep a close eye on it. Maybe put them in a dry area? I'm interested in what others have to say as well.

It does look fungal to me, a very clear margin to normal hair and a scaly appearance of the skin, very much like ringworm. It should clear up in time however garden fungicides like Captan and Lime sulpher can be used if it makes you feel better doing something.
