Does anybody have any info on cleft pallet in calves. I'm not sure that is the correct name but am calling it that because the roof of the calf's mouth is not closed. Calf is a twin, the brother is thriving but this guy is declining. We are bottle feeding but just doesn't nurse well and leaks milk out nose. Do we put him down now or is there a chance he can survive this?
If he were a human, massive surgeries could correct the problem. If he were mine, I would put him down. How can an animal survive with an abnormal opening in his mouth that will never go away?
