Calf catcher hook

does anybody know the diameter of the hook calf Catcher hook where the hoof catches? Also the space before where the leg slides in. Thanks am making me one and I want to catch calf’s up to one month to 6 weeks old. I enclose a picture if I can get it to attach.

Easier to use a length of 1/2 inch round aluminum. A hook that will catch your wrist is a bit too big.

Please do post a photo, I can change my opening if needed. I used a 5/16” rod that came off something. I never throw metal away as I’m always using it on the farm. I just need the opening diameter of where the leg ends up when caught. Thanks
