Calf - broken leg?

We pulled a calf last weekend - since birth, the calf has a hard time getting up on its back left leg. In birthing, could we have damaged its hips and/or legs?

Unless he was breach and you had to pull from his back legs the odds have having injured its leg/hips from pulling are pretty slim. However, passing the hips through the pelvis may have stretched/strained/sprained, etc. its hips. Or it could have just been so eadded up inside the cow that it will take him a bit to get his legs under him. If he walks ok when he's up and doesn't drag the leg or the leg doesn't point in a weird angle, just give him time. We had a heifer born this year who's rear legs looked like parenthesis ((, I was pretty upset about it figuring she was really a mess, birth defect, mineral deficiency, etc. Within a couple of weeks you couldn't tell anything had ever been wrong. The vet said it was just the way she was balled up in the cow. Works for me!
