My grandparents have a 1-2 week old bull calf that is blowing white bubbly junk out when it tries to go to the bathroom. they said it kind looks like milk. It seems to be acting fine. Does anybody know what this is?

Thanks

Sorry bout the above reply I just could not help myself.
Yup sounds like scours to me too. now here is the trip.
If it is just plain white scours, it usually means just too much milk.
BUT, if it is yellow or yellowish, and or has mucus or blood in it, then treat it pronto.

Either way, you should take some action to slow it down to prevent dehydration.

yep, you will need to keep a close eye on that calf.. if he remains alert and it is white, then most likely he will be ok in a few days... if i am out of scours pills, etc, i will give them something i would take... like koapetate sp? .. if he looks sick, ears drooping, etc, better get something stronger in him quick. most likely could have some infection. i would talk to my vet about it.

have any of you ever given imodium ad to your calves for scours?
