Calf banding

Hi I'm new to this. We recently banded a 350# bull and something weird happened. We are not new at banding, we have done over 300 but, never saw this. So I need help. His not so little testicles fell off but, now he has what looks like a little penis, where the testicles were. It has no hair on it. He does not seem to be in distress but, it looks like it hurts. No bleeding or swelling. Please help.

Do you have a picture? How long has it been since you banded him?

No pic .It has been about a month. All testies are gone.

Any chance its part of the band hanging there? I'm just throwing things out there, never seen that before.

I'm going to think it's the cord but not sure why the wound is open. If the sac had fallen off it should be healed.

That's what I thought it might be also.

KT I read up on that and I have determined it is the cord. It is mainly constructed of muscle. I am going to try banding as close to skin as possible and see how we progress. I don't understand how that could be left if the balls are gone.

Looked like the little thingy is either retracting into the cavity or just swelling is going down. Balls actually tell off about a week ago. I am going to get closer look this weekend.

Could it be a teat? Bull calves will have them too.
