Buying steers this fall?

What do y'all think of the idea of buying some steers to winter this fall? Usually when I buy it's 400-500 weight calves.
 
I don't see the market getting any worse. If you have pasture I'd say go for it.

Don't know how the election would effect it though.

How many do you want? You know where we're located. I'll be weaning in November.

If I were still doing the bred heifer sale I would absolutely be interested in your calves if you had heifers to sell. For buying steers yours are better from the start than what I'm looking for. I buy singles or small groups of calves that don't look too fancy but look like they can be shined up with some groceries and good mineral.
 
Both the neighbor and I have been kicking this around and pushing the pencil. Those 450 pound steer calves are $100 higher than they were last fall. To sell at the same price we contracted for last year the margins are just too tight.
