Buying Replacement cows

Two of the five cows I bought last week have calves. The vet had 7 on all of them. Bought a cow in mid January that had an 8 on her. She hasn't calfed yet. I have learned to only trust the vet's opinion just so much. It sure isn't the gospel.

I agree with that. Last year I bought several cows that were supposed calve in March. I bought them in January, one had her calf two days after a bought her, and one didn't calve until almost June. It is pretty much a guessing game.
