buying Dexters

I manage holiday cottages in the otway forest we have some fenced land. Can Dexter cows be tethered? One of our purposes for the cows is to keep the grass levels down, as snakes are frevalent in this area, and also to keep as pets. Can anyone advise me on my queries, and further where to purchase a couple of these cows??

Yes, I suppose Dexters could be tethered, with some supervised training, as with any other animal. We've only tied ours when teaching them to lead, etc., as weanlings.

If you check with the Dexter registry (http://www.dextercattle.org), you should be able to find breeders near you.
