Hi and welcome to Cattle Today....

What and why are you contemplating a move to the country and what kind of experience do you have ? Not to be a smart a$$ just trying to get a feel for what you want or expect out of this and is it a knee jerk reaction to city type living and possible problems there???? Or are you serious about getting more independent and self sufficient and how much land and what do you want to do with, or raise on that land????

Hope you continue the dialog.

I think a lot depends on the person. Are you are a shopping and socialising type person or someone who likes quiet and space. Are you an early riser who would rather be outside than in. If you move for the 'romance' of living in the country but still want you creature comforts, socialising and shopping then it's not for you.

Do you plan on keeping any animals Kristin? My only knowledge of rural areas in England is from the TV show Escape to the country. Beautifull countryside but not a lot of space but you can choose species to suit the area you have. I don't see any negatives in moving to the country, certainly a different lifestyle to the city.
Welcome to the forum, I hope you can persuade your husband to make the move.

Here is just one Ken.

In the city, if I did front and back lawns and edges, start too finish was about 30 to 40 mins.

I wont post how much time I spend just blowing stuff each week just on half acre house block, just the leaves from one gum gives me more work than whole block in city. :D :D :D

What are your husbands objections to moving?
