The northern beef week kicks off the 20th June in the northern part of our state. 120 beef cattle studs will open their properties up for the week,each stud will have their designated day (ours is day one) then the displays move on to another area for day two and so on. We will probably go and look at a couple of other studs on day two and day six as those areas border on to us and have breeds displayed that interest us.
There are a lot of new breeders having a go this year. The southern part of our state had their turn in autumn. Queensland the state to our north have their turn from July onwards. Victoria and South Australia have their own days in February. Its an excellent innovation,especially for those that don't tread the boards at shows etc.
Saves time and travel having the cattle viewed on property.
Last year was a very productive exercise for us.
