I figured I'd hit up this place for some wisdom.
A water pipe in the foundation broke, but my wife caught it pretty quick and was able to get the main valve turned off.
Plumber took care of his side of things and the insurance sent out a crew to demolition and dry things.
All the laminate flooring that was involved was taken out already. One main wall was involved. They cut a hole in each side and have blowers/dehumidifier going. The guys that came out think it is drying really well. They took measurements of moisture content, started in the 40's day before yesterday, down to about 20 today. They said they are good with it under 16.
My questions are:
What should I be aware of?
Is it okay to dry the wall if the leak was caught quickly? Or is this setting us up for failure down the road- mold, etc?
How can this be determined?
Adjuster is coming to take a look.
Thanks for your thoughts.
