Dow Jones 30 has fallen almost 5k this week, slipping into correction. Many expect the supply chain disruptions in China to trigger a new financial crisis.
At the same time SAV and other major seedstock sales in 2020 have recorded lower average prices for bulls sold, with almost no 6 figure sales. Is this a sign of bears coming?

The markets were just waiting for something like this to happen. Sucks for anyone that bought in high, great for anyone looking to buy in now.

Fear can make people do strange things. I think the fear at the moment is the unkown. I wouldn't be entering the market right now. All the institution investors are running for cover and trying to sell at any price. This is causing panic as no one knows if there is more going on than we are being told. Funny thing though, sales of corona beer have apparently taken a $250 000 000 hit!!

Machines are doing most of the common stock buying and selling now. The machines don't have animal like attitudes - - they have algorithms that don't include SAV.

Overarching issue is we are used to having the central banks (try to) manage demand. But this Chinese flu thing contains both supply and demand problems. Lowering interest rates will not reopen factories nor restart travel...

I am surprised this topic is not discussed much on the forum. Especially seeing the April futures for Live cattle at $1.0. In Europe COVID 19 is 90% of the news, but more and more people make remarks, that it is not their health, both their economic welfare that is going to be impacted.

Huuuuge paper losses in the markets. Common stock fans love to point out how these assets should rebound even higher in a couple years. OK, but no bottom till we get a constructive coherent messages from our government and some stability in oil. Could be a while... :(

What about that calf in the yard? Can you keep feeding him for two or three years till fats are worth $1.30 again? Beef seems to follow the stock market.

A portfolio play here would be to rebalance by selling livestock and buying high divided common stock.
