HERFORD BULL LEFT HIND HOOF SWOLLEN CAN NOT PUT WEIGHT ON FOOT ABOUT 4 WEEKS THEN LAST WEEK STARTED FAVORING THE RIGHT HIND HOOF BOTH HOOVES SWOLLEN DOES NOT MOVE AROUND HARDLY AT ALL AND WHEN HE DOES MOVE HOOVES ARE KNUCKLED UNDER?????? ANY SUGGESTIONS?????

Need to treat ASAP if foot rot, We usually have to soak the foot too, It can be cured just needs some attention. Do you think he has something that is in his foot? Just a thought, but I agree with treating with an antibiotic.

If you run him year round, I'd sell him and buy a replacement ASAP. You'll get slaughter price and that's a shame but he's going to be out of commission for a good while and you are going to need another bull. If you work a calving season and plan to have him pulled off the cows for a considerable time you can doctor him. Since he got it in his hind hoof (seems like a good bull never gets it in the front) and now in the other, he's no use to you until those hooves are 100%. He will have to completely heal before you can expect him to take care of business.

Don't sell him the way he is now. Give him LA200 he should get a little better. Probably not good enough to cover many cows but at least he'll walk in the ring a little better. If not you're gonna get hammered, maybe it would be better to just get hammered instead.
