Hi new here!
Just wondering about bull genetics in heifer and bull calves?
I dont have many cows but this spring I have had all bull calves, not one heifer.Just 4 calves. The bull is 3 years old and has only thrown one heifer.Guess I will be able to tell more in the fall, expecting 8 calves, would like some heifers to keep.

most bulls throw 50/50 bulls an heifers and thats what you should pretty much average unless you get the rare bull that sires mostly bull calves wich is rare scott

I think it must average out-- We raise and show chickens, last year had mostly pullets( girls) this year it looks like mostly little roosters.

your probably better off. I'd take the higher money on your bull calves and buy you some heifers already bred or ready to. My two angus bulls throw about 88% bull calves which has helped my bottom line tremendously. I belive I was money ahead buying my heifers rather than raising them out.

We have Buff Brahma bantams, and Dutch bantams in light brown, cream light brown and blue cream light browns. (chickens :))
My 11 year old daughter shows in 4-h and open shows. It's a fun family interest.
