Bull Calves What R They Worth!!!

im just woundering what young bull callves are worth where you are.

we have fleckvieh cross calves out of holsteins
some holstiens
some brownswiss and some swiss cross fleckvieh.

im just qurious because bull calves out here arnt worth much.

i hope that will change sooner than later.

I have gotten Jersey bull calves for $45, and Jersey X Holstien for $90. That is of course the "calving season" price. You can easily take $15 off that price from August to February around here.

As I have a nurse cow close to calving, I've called most of the dairies within an hours drive and only one had calves for sale (the rest were contracted to other folks) and their Holstein bull calves were $120.

Most people around here get 100-175 a piece for them.

Down here you can buy day to week old holstiens at the local auction for $20-$50. Beef calves are about $80-$175.
