Bucking Bulls

Does anyone on this board raise bucking bulls? Just curious. Bred my cow to a PBR bull last year and got a beautiful red heifer calf. Am breeding her back to a youg bull who has yet to be ridden. Ruth

I live in a Dairy region of New York State. I don't know much about bucking bulls but I have a 21 month old 7 months pregnant heifer that weighs 1064 lbs. She is tame as can be but, when she is in an open area or has a hay bale to play with she bucks and kicks her back feet way up in the air runs and spins around and head butts the hay bale to pieces. She reminds me of the bucking bulls on TV. Its so funny to watch her when she gets going. She enjoys head butting with steers, bulls and anything else that will let her. She has always been a little crazy in the pasture; she would run around trees like she was barrel racing when she was younger. She still loves to run. She has never had anyone on her back so I don't know if she would buck with a passenger or not. But She is my favorite and she is aways good for a laugh Her name is Ruby. What is a PBR Bull? Rachel

One more thing I do have a Red Holstien Bull that is 5 months old that bucks alot like Ruby does. His name is Spice.

Sounds like she would cross well with a bucking bull, some of the best bulls have a bit of dairy blood in them. PBR stands for Pro Bull Riders. So a PBR bull is qualified for the pros. Ruth

Ruby is 50% holstien 25% Angus and 25%Charolais. One other thing about her is that both her parent were black and white and she is red and white.

Her mother was an old cow my Dad bought. She has long horns, lots of ear and loose skin like a braham, but is big boned.She is light brown with a model face and one white leg with spots. She is 12 years old and still breeds within a month of calving and holds her weight at 1200 lbs. on pasture. Her name is Fawn, she looked just like one when she was born. Ruth

I ran across this post from a couple a years ago and was wondering how it turned out, because today many bucking bulls have sold for over $100,000 and some have got that for 50% ownership.What a great country we live in.

I don't think any of those folks still post here anymore.

that would be because they cant afford internet access after going broke spending all their emu profits to buy partial interests in overpriced bucking bulls

I have some born to buck cattle as well.One thing about it.There's never a dull momment with them.
