Buc-ee's

Help Support CattleToday:

Gas in Baker City is $3.99 at a couple of the stations. Diesel at North Powder was $4.15 yesterday. Four cents cheaper than Baker so I filled up. There is a couple of charging stations at the old Baker truck corral. I haven't ever seen a car hooked up to one of them. Electric cars aren't very popular in eastern Oregon or with long distance travelers passing through.
Yikes, 83 octane is 2.77 while diesel oil is 3.09

Unless my googlefoo is handicapped, I don't see any in Arkansas. If I see one during my limited travels, I'll stop and check it out, for the same reason my wife and I stopped at a dispensary in Colorado; insatiable curiosity. I couldn't figure out whether it was a pharmacy or a candy store.
I've only been in 2, one on I-30 about 35 miles before you get to Dallas and another one at Waco on 35. I've seen others in Tx and one in Alabama. As with everything, the competition was watching and there are all kinds of brands with the same concept popping up along both of those interstates only they are adding the truckers to the mix. They are laid out like a strip mall with a hundred gas pumps in the front yard and so many lights, the birds never sleep.

Stopped at Bucees in Bastrop, TX last night. Tried a bag of these. I could get hooked.

Meanwhile, south of the border, down Mexico way...

What my little area needs is a good gas station fried chicken...
Hard to beat gas station fried chicken livers. We've got 3 in town that serve them - Huck's, MaxFuel, and Marathon. Not sure I can pick one over the other... they're all good. They do chicken, too, but I'm there for the livers.

Here is a review of Bucees on social media posted by a couple who ate all 3 meals of the day there. I like the place but I'm not buying or wearing the onesie.Review
Only $50 total for 2 people, eating a total of 6 meals (3 meals each) ...at Buc-ee's?
Ain't no way I'm believing that!

Any gas station chicken is good 90% of the time. Except in the little town of Hot Coffee Mississippi. I don't think that little place has changed their cooking oil since Moby Dick was a minnow and Capt Ahab was a seaman apprentice. 🙁

I don't think I would like a Buc-ee's.... it seems to commercialized. I like to go to the Mama and Pops to keep them in busy before the big guys take over. Family owned little folks is normally where I go. One day the big wigs will own everything....

Everyone likes Buc-ees. It started very small in TX not that many years ago. Pretty sure still family owned.

Surely you jest.

No, sir. I don't like Buc-ees and you can't make me.

Nothing about a Buc-ees sounds good to me. I'd rather go to a little store.
