Has anyone heard of calf breaking its back hoof and still being able to maintain. Somebody told me it would heal back and she would be able to function and walk on it. She has been doing good about eating, she just limps.
She is 7 months old Charlois/Hostein mix.

Depending on where he/she broke it, yes. It's not only possible it's likely. The hoof will grow back out. The biggest concern is that, again depending on where he/she broke it and the conditions that the calf is living in, foot rot may be a problem. Keep an eye on this calf and watch to see how he/she does. If the calf is not improving within a week or so, may also want to give some sulfa boluses, a shot of penicillin or LA200 and possibly put some iodine or kopper-tox on the foot.
