my most unfortunate accident occured in the working chute working cattle. We have a sweep tub from ww and i was using the crowd gate when this 1300 pound brangus cow got irate and rammed the gate and it smacked me in the hand. I went to the orthopedist today. He said that my 4th metacarpal was displaced 4 mm. He said the bone has shortened and that if I didnt have surgery the knuckle would look out of whack but that the finger is straightening up nicely. I showed him my other hand and said my knuckles are already jacked up as it is. I think I will opt out of the surgery. Although, it did sound like alot of fun. He was going to do this thing called a beer block and numb my hand and whole arm then cut my hand open and go in and put titanium bolts into the bone. BEER BLOCK sounds alot of fun.
