The average for all breeds is considered 283 days. There is some small differences in breeds but not much. There is more differences in individuals than there is in different breeds.

Correct

For a quick estimate on when a cow will calve, count back 3 mo, and add 10 days from the day she was bred. It can vary from that date by a few days, but nor normally not more than ten days either way.

ie, Bred today Aug. 24. should calve around June 3.

Or you can look at the gestation table on the Cattle Today main site.

Hi, I realize your original question is going on several weeks old, but I thought I'd chime in as I am a British White breeder. As you've already been told, typical gestation is 283 days, and yes, this breed falls within that window, give or take several days before or after, like many catle. I hope your calves hit the ground without difficulty.
