Breeds for Year Round Hot/Tropical Weather

Help Support CattleToday:

For tenderness and climate adaptability, I would suggest
Murray Grey or Senepol - or a combination of the two:

We have sold purebred Murray Grey embryos to Costa
Rica - I think they have a tropical climate in most of their
land.

some have claimed that the Tuli breed is a good alternative to Brahman. Waguli might be just what you are looking for. ;-)

Tuli have all the qualities needed to thrive in hot, humid conditions, and are second to none for parasite resistance. Research on the Tuli at several American universities, show the meat quality to compare favourably to Angus, the two are also very complimentary as a cross. Pictures and information in the publication section of the following link may prove informative, Tuli have been exported to several Caribbean countries over the last ten years. http://www.tuli.co.za
