I have a cow that just gave birth on this past Sunday. How long until she can carry eggs from a doner cow as a recipient? And does the egg need to be fertilized before it is injected into her or does the fertilization occur after she has been injected with the egg?

Thanks!

Embro work is very technical - better consult your Vet . The cow will be ok for recip work in about 60 days. Timing her as a recip cow depends on will you be putting in frozen eggs or take her to flush center and implant after the donor cow has been flushjed.

she will need to be cycling before you use her. embryo work is very technical & is usually only done by a certified technician.

the egg from the donor is already fertilized when implanted in the recipient cow. basically it's an embryo being implanted, not an egg.

embryo transfer is used to be able to get more offspring from a cow of superior genetic quality.

have you purchased embryos?
