Breeding Soundness Exams

I am being told that the electro shock method(ie, inserting an electric probe thru the rectum and delivering a light shock to the prostate gland) to collect a bull's semen can later cause the bull to become sterile. Has their been any scientific tests or studies that have been done to validate or disprove this notion? Thanks Mel Maxwell

I have always tested bulls that are to be used to breed and have used some for 6 to 7 years and never had one go sterile. Thats about the only testing I know of.
