Agreed. That is not a good situation for a crossbred or "synthetic" bull. A good Angus or Hereford or PURE Charolais bull can really make those calves at least "presentable"; though it really is the next generation when all the "damage" is really contained and for a commercial cattleman who rides a cow for 12, 15, or 18++ years, breeding "mistakes" show up for a very long time. I generally stay away from linebreeding myself. I would rather keep it simple with controlled crossbreeding or like back when I did keep registered cows, just multiply somebody else's good genetics. I prefer to let somebody else take the big risks and if I don't like the cattle they are selling, I buy someplace else.
