You didn't say what breed you have now, but Brangus (Red or black), Braford, Beefmaster, Santa Gertrudis should do well as momma cows bred to a Red or black Angus or maybe a Gelbvieh or Simmenthal. F1 Brahman X Angus Hereford, Gelbvieh or Simmenthal will also give you good mommas and bred to a non-eared bull shouldn't hurt you at the salebarn.
