In my personal opinion and I have use Brahman and Nelore bloods in my Simbrah, Canchim (Charbray) and Brahmousin herds, I have seen better growth rates with Nelore influence crosses, most of my so call Brahman influence herd or composites is 5/8 Continental-2/8 Nelore-1/4 Brahman.
I invite all breeders that are using Brahman influence cattle to use some Nelore blood in their mix and prove that what I had proven for my self years ago is truth.

In a recent research done by the U.S. Meat Animal Research Center in Nebraska, the Nelore F1s showed the largest percentage of unassisted calving, the highest weaning percentage, and their offspring calves were 2nd in 200-day weaning weight of the 11 breeds evaluated. These results combined placed the Nelore F1s as the most productive dams, with an impressive 115.0 ratio.
