:?: At what age do Brahman heifers sexually mature? I was given a pure bred Brahman heifer by an elderly lady who hand reared her but could not remember how old she was. I have had her for about sixteen months and she seems to have reached full height and filled out. She has been running with a proven bull for about 12 mths.Is she barren or as I was told, are Brahman late developers? Thanks for any info.

what makes you think she is not bred? some you never see get bred, but they are

Some of my brahman cross heifers don't breed until they are a full two years old.

Generally Brahmans are "late bloomers". 18 -20 months until they start cycling is not unusual.

Very seldom Brahman heifers cycle before about 20 months. Brahmans would be amongst the only breed that you can run young heifers with a bull without them getting in calf.
Very seldom do you see Brahman females being served by a Brahman bull,they generally mate in the early hours of the morning. I have had Brahman bulls that I have never seen serve anything yet I had a full complement of calves.
