Do you get this in the US or Canada? Here in Australia its called three day sickness. It lasts usually for three days but can be longer. The cattle behave like humans with the "flu" or a bad cold. They have sore limbs and are very listless. I have a show steer with it at the moment. I immunize all our bulls as it can cause temporary infertility.Often only one animal in a paddock will have it an no other will get it. Its spread by midges or mosquitos.

Apparantly not.
From Merck:
viral disease of cattle and water buffalo that is seen in Africa, the Middle East, Australasia (excluding Papua New Guinea and New Zealand), and Asia south of the former USSR.

We get it from time to time, but its a rarity, get something similar in sheep, I always thought it was the same ailment, but according to dun's quote it apparently is not.

Unfortunately I have more serious ilnesses than three day stiffsickness, like redwater and gallsickness.
