Only bull I own besides Big Sexy.....
Quite some time back, probly while I was still raising Seven, I pondered how good of a mama she would be. Will she make lots of milk? (Her mama does and dad was a chi influenced bull. His sisters make good milk. I have 2 of them) Would she maybe raise a second calf? Will she have twins? (She was a twin herself ya know) You know, all that stuff a man-mom wonders while raising a cow to be.....
I picked this lil fart up a while back for a "Lil" bit of nothing.
Guess that answers me questions

Seven ain't as thrilled as Bessie or Brandy, but she is somewhat tolerating her new heifer calf.
Calf is persistent! That helps. And she's definitely filled out since getting her yesterday. She was pretty hollow.
Yall probly knew where this was going huh?

Mutt n Jeff seem to be hanging out together. Gonna keep em penned a few more days and I'm watching closely at milk supply and calf condition. Not many folks would put a 2nd calf on a first calf heifer. A beef heifer at that!
Idk if yall remember Bertha (Sevens birth mother) or not. I tried grafting a calf on Bertha last year I think it was. She makes lots n lots of milk. Big sim-angus cow. She tolerated calf while she was eating feed, but became irate with the adopted calf when not preoccupied. It didn't work out.
Anyway!

Lil snuggle buddies! They are pairing up and being besties.
Bull is banded
Heifer got a tag.
Mama appears to be letting them nurse together. As long as they stick together I think this will work out.

Turn't 'em out this evening! In typical "Seven" fashion, she's never in a hurry to go anywhere. Ford n Val n Lil 'Nuf were tugging on ol Bessie. Lil 'Nuf decided she would come attack Seven too. I guess the lil fart is growing some....

Well, I haven't had to bottle feed or supplement a calf in 2 years (knock wood - woohoo!), so I think she's finally weaned! Did I mention she's 9, raising her 8th calf? Now she just stalks me; she knows I always have cubes in my ride.

I'm gonna have to come visit on a Wednesday sometime!

@MurraysMutts they went anywhere from $150 - 400, depending on size (and how healthy they looked).
