There are 839 5x5 silage bales in this stack. Total from 112 acres we cut mid Sept. Didn't get a finished photo when done wrapping. They cost us $43 per bale to get them inside the plastic. Happy to have the extra!

That's nearly 7.5 bales to the acre and big 5 x 5. That was a great crop!!
What did you calculate for the cost? Net wrap, plastic wrap, fuel, fertilizer???
I don't own any equipment except the spear on my tractor. So, my costs are pretty cut and dry. The more "per acre" the cheaper the bales, because some of my cost is by the acre (mow, rake, tedder).

Net, plastic, freight, (we hauled some 15 and some 20 miles), and I did $100 per hour for all tractor time. We paid $15 a bale for it standing.
