I had a heifer to have a calf one week ago today. The vet made the delivery and gave her some shots(not sure what). He seemed to think everything was fine.

Today, I witnessed her urinate, and there was a trace of blood. I haven't noticed her acting sick or unusual. Is this something that needs action?

The lochial discharge (bloody leftovers from calving) can be present for a couple of weeks afterwards. Presumably a bit of that is coming out with her urine.

That's good to know. Thanks for the info.

gave an official sounding response....

I was gonna say she just pushed out a 70 lb or greater biological object from her body a week ago....

I didn;t know they official term, I've always referred to it as detritus or crap left over from birthing.
