> Thank you! There is a commercial product called Bloatgard that is used in the feed when cattle are on roughage likely to produce bloat. Bloat can be treated by forcefeeding vegetable oil(it helps break up foamy bubbles). Legume pastures are most prone to causing bloat. I have grazed alfalfa/grass pastures without bloat protection as long as the grass % is at least 30% of total forage. A high fat lick tank product will control bloat on pure alfalfa pasture. Other producers may have other experiences to add.
