Anyone running a black Hereford bull over Santa Gert mommas? Pros and cons and pics of calves if you have them. Thanks
 
I don't know anything about the " black Herefords" but a Hereford x Gert makes a pretty good cow. Have had a few of those and really like them.
 
So far ain't many to compare too, the way to knock a home run ..breed to straight Hereford, then the replacements too a Angus.. there won't be a comparison...but plenty to discuss..

That's what we do with ours most of the time, those calves from the Gert/Hereford cross cow and Angus bulls are pretty hard to beat. Although we have used Hereford bulls the last few years on most cows to get some replacement heifers, then probably go back with Angus bull on them.

You will find very few black hereford breeders and even fewer crossing them to Gert cows, the cross sure can't beat Hereford bulls on Brangus cows for Super Baldies.
