I suppose they don't always bring more. But generally they seem to. Black cows will have a chance to produce black calves; black calves can visually qualify for CAB premium. That's one reason. Others are, Angus cattle have a reputation for being efficient feeders and hanging quality carcasses.

Whatever the market trend for color is would probably be the best commercial choice.

Might also consider a black Longhorn bull (horns are recessive) to contribute the historic Longhorn survival, health, milking, mothering, calving ease qualities. Longhorn crossed with other non-horned breed should produce a polled calf.
