Anybody out there looked into generating their own farm raised biodiesel? I just started scratching the surface and wanted to see if someone had already done the homework. I'm not some wacko greeny trying to save the earth...I just want to take another step in making the farm more self sufficient. You never know when the day may come... It looks like soybeans are the most common way. How difficult/expensive is it to extrude the oil out of the beans? Any thoughts are appreciated.

By the way, I thought of using the search option only after starting this thread so unless you have some experience you'd like to share don't waste your time. I found a lot looking back at previous threads.

Check out Dr. Rex Newkirk of the Canadian International Grains Institute in Winnipeg, Manitoba he does seminars on biodiesel up here in Canada.
