I had thought at one point that there was a thread where folks talked about their biggest cows, but I didn't find it. The reason I started thinking about this was because I weighed all of my cows last week so I could get a current weight and keep up with weights so I know if they start to lose some weight.
Well, the last cow I worked weighed in at 1755 lbs. She is a coming 8 year old former show cow, that actually did pretty well, and I bought her in September. I had NO CLUE she weighed that much.
So, go ahead and post the weight of your biggest cow. I'm curios to see the average size of females out there.

9/25/08 our 2 heaviest cows were 1785 and 1795, sincethey haven;t had calves on them since then they're probably well over 1800 now. Even with those heavy weights the herd average is 1450. The 1785 cows is a FS 6.5 and the 1795 is FS 6, all of the others run in the 5.5 - 6 range.

My biggest cow now weighs in as a quarter pounder. I don't know how you can afford to winter a big tank.

My average cow is exactly 1,226 pounds and on a diet. I can not justify a Kit Pharo bull, but if I breed heifers at 650 to 700 pounds then the cow size seems reasonable.

My biggest cow was 1980 and she was a purebred Santa. She was just huge but an awesome looking cow. She was a less than average producer.

I know with some of my Beefmaster cows, they are pushing 1800+ no doubt about it.

My partner just bought a reg Angus cow that easily goes 1700. she is bred to a 2400lb Gelbvieh bull, we're thinking about keeping her calf for a bull.

To breed to our elephant herd :lol2: :lol2:

I don't think your pole will give you that info.
My average is about 1400 lbs.

Yeah, I should have re-worded it. I was meaning the average as far as the "biggest" cows that people had.

ive got 2 cows that i know will go 1500lbs or better.but the biggest cow i ever had was a hol cow.she hitt the scales at 1815lbs.

The norm for me is around 1300-1400. They are a little heavier now, as I played around with AI and embryos this year which left some open longer than normal. I've had a couple in the high 1600s in the past, but my biggest now is around 1600. She's not tall, but she is sprung like a tank. She's an easy keeper, drops big calves unassisted, and weans off the biggest calf on the place by a wide margin every year. She milks like crazy, but never loses the pads of fat on the sides of her tailhead. She's 13, and I can only assume she has ribs, but I've never seen them. If I could have a whole herd of her, I would, but her daughters have never measured up to her. She's a registered Hereford, out of Circle-D 832W, which is the same line my other bigger cows came from.

This is our largest cow, she's a frame score 7.2, no idea how much she weighs

My 1800 pound cow is bigger than the frame score 7.2. Wow!

No 1800 pounders on my place. Biggest is probably 1600 and she's almost 8 months bred but very large frame.

Bigger as in taller

I have a question concerning these 1,800 lb cows

Do they wean a 900 lb calf at six months?
