I found this surfing the net...


"The photo shown is of a 15 year old Brahman cross Shorthorn steer owned by Jack Mericle of Kuna, Idaho."

(photo from 1983 "Furrow" magazine) "The calf was named 'Satan' and weighed in at 2086 kg. With a shoulder hieght of 183 cm, and 350 cm around the girth, and 417 cm from the tip of his nose to the base of his tail."
 
My question is why did they measure in cm, and kg in Idaho in 1983?

I included the weight in zolotniks because I figured if there can be a Moscow, Idaho, maybe there's an Idaho in Russia

the picture and the quote came from an Australian Cattle Site
 
That picture was in the Ag text book in my high school ag class. Said it was a shorthorn/brahman cross.
