I am not sure what you are getting at with the mesquitos. The problems I hear about are cattle choking on them, no breed will help that.
Go with Brangus, Beefmaster, Tigerstripes or any thing like that. I agree, if its your first herd to not go with straight BRAMER. I know where there are some ready to breed tigerstripes for $750 ea around here. ;-)
