Hey guys,

Im just about finishing up development on a new pond. I am interested in sealing the pond with bentonite. Packing it into the floor shouldnt be a problem. Applying it to several of the walls is going to be an issue as they are too steep to run a cat or compactor over. Should I even worry about applying it to the walls?

Thanks in advance!

Where are you located? What type of soil

Southern oregon. Soil is black clay. Underneath the clay is fractured shale. Havent hit the shale yet. There is some moisture in the clay now and appears it will compact well.

Sounds like it should hold pretty good. Do you have a sheepsfoot? How big of pond?

Do not have sheeps foot. Roller, but im not sure if he is going to be able to be able to handle some of the edges. Pond is something like 150 x 50. Trying for 10-12 feet deep.
