I went down to the Central Texas Beefmaster Breeders Association's 22nd Annual sale this past weekend (10/17 - 10/18) in Brenham, TX. There were plenty of good bulls there, and the sale was exceptional considering the current market. The sale results show that producers, both commercial and seedstock, are searching for that breed that will carry us through the next century where efficiency will be of the utmost importance. Here are some of the bulls from the sale.
Lot 31 - High grading bull, High selling bull - $15,750 (1/2 semen interest retained), Consigned by Frenzel Beefmasters
Lot 124 - Sold for $5,000 Consigned by Vinson Beefmasters
Lot 78 - Sold for $5,500, Consigned by Simon Creek Beefmasters
The first 30 lots in the sale averaged $5,000. 84 lots averaged $3,644. 10 bulls sold for more than $5,000.
