Beef makes her sick

Sodium nitrate is the curing salt used for cured meats.

Apparently if you spray fresh meat with it it stays red and won't turn brown. To me it looks like a cherry red and not a pink red. I remember they were trying to have the practise banned. That is here in Australia.

Whatever they do to it, our home raised beef is NOT making her sick. She ate a whole steak by herself. Enjoying the heck out of being able to eat beef. Might be in her head??? but, this has gone on for years. Loving beef, she kept trying to eat it and kept getting sick. She & hubby purchased a half, because they have been cooking meals for her parents so needed a cheaper source of food.
