Does anyone know what the most popular type of beef is that is sold in the supermarkets ? (besides angus)Where do the supermarkets get their meat from ? Do they contract with small ranches or large ones ?

Supermarkets get their beef from wholesalers, who get beef from packers, who get cattle from feedlots, who get cattle from individual ranchers, video sales or sale barns. Although packers are working more directly with cattle alliances to provide a specific type of beef that is more profitable for both of them.
